Meet Our Pastor
Rev. Charles D. Owens – I have been senior pastor of Spirit of Peace since March 9th, 2020. Previously I served for six years at a church in rural north Iowa. I became a pastor because I love God and I love churches, and I want to share that love as much as possible! As senior pastor my most important duty is to make sure we’re living into our vision of being a progressive, inclusive, and diverse congregation here in Sioux Falls. Outside I love traveling, reading, exploring the great outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.

Spirit of Peace Staff Members

LeAnn Minister, Director of Congregational Life – My main role at the church is engaging visitors and members, coordinating volunteers, and administrative support for our ministries. Prior to this I was the Director of Christian Education at Spirit of Peace for the last 9 years. Having lived and experienced worship in other countries, as well as both coasts of the US, being part of the Spirit of Peace congregation has been an exceptional gift. This church family encourages people of all ages to inquire, create, and act with mercy and compassion in their faith journeys. It is a pleasure to be a part of this impressive church.

Dan Graber, Choir Director – I have served as choir director at Spirit of since 2011 and also serve as music director and organist at First Presbyterian Church in Sioux Falls. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in piano and voice from Bethel College in North Newton, KS. Leading music and working with people is something that brings me great joy. I also see music as an integral part of worship services-something that can inspire people and bring them nearer to God-this is the true inspiration of my work! I live east of Freeman, SD with my wife Tina, and my two children, Adaline and Levi. We are also active in the family farming operation.

Karl Graber, Pianist/Church Musician – I have been providing music for Spirit of Peace church services since 2009. I began musical studies at age 5 on violin and age 6 on piano. I have a Bachelor of Music in piano from University of Nebraska-Lincoln. In addition to making music with my friends, I enjoy golfing and working on my yard south of Marion, SD in the summer, and reading in winter.
